MOHAMMAD JOUYBAR AND SOFIA GUEDES RECEIVE BEST POSTER AWARDS

12-06-26

Congratulations to Mohammad Jouybar and Sofia Guedes on receiving Best Poster Awards at the 5th Online Poster Conference of Biofabrication for Early Career Researchers.

The conference was organized by the International Society for Biofabrication (ISBF) in collaboration with the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB) and TERMIS-EU, bringing together early-career researchers from across the fields of biofabrication, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine.

Mohammad Jouybar received the Postdoctoral Research Award for his poster:

“6-DoF Robotic Melt Electrowriting and Hydrogel Casting for Large-Scale Curved Anatomical Tissue Constructs.”

The awarded work was carried out as part of Mohammad’s postdoctoral research in the Malda Lab, where he focuses on multi-axis biofabrication techniques and the 3D bioprinting of complex-shaped orthopedic and cardiac tissues.

Sofia Guedes, a student in the MSc Biofabrication programme at Utrecht University, received the Master Student Research Award for her poster:

“Flip-Scaffold Technique to Recapitulate Arcade-like Alignment of Articular Cartilage Integrating Bioprinting.”

Sofia described the project as her first experience in the field of biofabrication, where she discovered her passion for the discipline. The work was carried out as part of her master's programme under the supervision of Mohammad Jouybar and Lisanne Dechant, and marks an important milestone in her development as a researcher.

These awards recognize the quality of their research contributions and highlight the exciting work being carried out within our biofabrication community.

Congratulations to Mohammad and Sofia on this achievement!
