POSTOPERATIVE SKELETAL PAIN: DEVELOPMENT OF NON-OPIOID TREATMENT STRATEGIES

19/04/2023

On Wednesday, April 19th, Jasper Steverink successfully defended his academic dissertation entitled: "Postoperative skeletal pain: Development of non-opioid treatment strategies". Under the supervision of Prof. Malda, and Dr. Verlaan, MD and the co-supervision of Dr S. Piluso, his research investigated why skeletal surgery is exactly so painful, and described the development of a novel sustained-release formulation of a local anaesthetic to treat pain after spine surgery.

We congratulate Jasper Steverink, MD, PhD, on this great achievement!
