MEET THE PROFESSOR

"Meet the Professor" is an annual event organized by the Center for Science and Culture at Utrecht University. It is aimed at bridging the gap between the university and society. During the event, teachers from Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht visit primary schools in the city of Utrecht by bicycle to talk to students from groups 6, 7 and 8 about their work, science and university. This year, 106 teachers participated and introduced around 2,300 students to science.

As part of the event, Professor Jos Malda and Anneloes Mensinga visited group 8B of Schateiland Primary School in Utrecht. They introduced the children to the process of printing bone and cartilage and also examined the cartilage tissue of various animal species under the microscope. The event was a great success in terms of introducing young students to the world of science.The children also examined the cartilage tissue of various animal species under the microscope.
