On March 17th, Jos Malda took part in the Great Small Talk Show @ Cureon, held at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the field of 3D printing and bioprinting in healthcare.
The session featured contributions from Lotte Pigmans (SBMC), Marcel Grooten (DoMicro BV), Jasper Van Hoorick (BIO INX), and Jos Malda (Utrecht University), offering a diverse mix of perspectives — from hands-on technological developments to real-world clinical and entrepreneurial applications.
Guided by host Floris Hamel (BOM), the discussion provided an accessible overview of the current state of the field, alongside concrete examples such as inkjet-based drug delivery and scalable bio-ink production.
The session highlighted both the rapid progress in biofabrication technologies and the ongoing challenge of translating these innovations into real clinical impact.
A great opportunity to connect science, industry, and innovation — and to reflect on the future of bioprinting in healthcare.
